India is the World's No. 1 Producer of Mango, Banana, Papaya, Jackfruit, Okra, Lemon, Millet, and Pulses.
Mango
Mango is a very famous fruit in all over the world which is also known as “King of fruits”. India is the king among world's mango producing countries accounting for about 40.75% of the total world production. India produced around 1,84,31,330 tonnes of mangoes in 2014. China and Thailand stood at second and third position among mango producing countries in the world with 10% and 8% of the total world mango production, respectively. The top mango producing states in India are Uttar Pradesh (23%), Andhra Pradesh (15%), Karnataka (9.5%) Telangana (9%) and Bihar (7%).

Banana
According to FAO, 2014 statistics, India is the leader in the world in banana production, producing around 26% of the worldwide crop. China and Philippines are the next largest producers with around 10.5% and 7.8% of the worldwide crop, respectively. India produced around 29,724,550 tonnes of banana in 2014. In India, Gujarat (14.8%) and Tamil Nadu (14.2%) are the largest producers.
Papaya
World papaya production grew significantly over the early 21st century, mainly as a result of increased production in India. India is ranked top among the papaya producing countries of the world and producing around 44.5% of the total world papaya production. The next largest producing country is Brazil (12.6%).
Jackfruit
Jack fruit was cultivated in India around 3000 to 6000 years ago. India is the largest jackfruit producer in the world. India produced around 2,082,320 tonnes of Jackfruits in 2014-15. Unfortunately, over 80% of jack fruits produced in India goes to waste. Bangladesh which considers jack fruit a national fruit is the second highest producer in the world. Kerala is top producer in India.
India occupied top position among the okra producing countries of the world and produces 66% of the total world production. In 2014, India produced 6346370 tonnes of okra.
Lemon
The origin of the lemon is unknown. It is believed that lemons are first grown in Assam, India, northern Burma or China. In 2014, India topped the all other nations in lemon production, It produced 17.5% (2835020 tonnes ) of the total world (16254214 tonnes ) production.
Millet
India is the largest millet producing country in the world with an output of 11420000 tonnes, accounting for more than 40.2% of the total world millet production. The landlocked West African country , Niger stood at second position among millet producing countries in the world with 11.7% of the total world millet production.
Pulses
India is not only largest producer of pulses, but also largest consumer and importer of pulses. India is produced about 22.2% of world’s pulses production in 2014. Russia is the next largest producers with around 10% of the worldwide production.
India is also the world leader in Bengal gram(chickpea) production, contributing for about 72% of the world’s total production. India produces more than 15 times as much as the second-largest producer, Australia.
